Styling Toyota Latino featuring Trueno
When I was brought on to style Toyota Latino's campaign surrounding for the 26th annual Latin Grammy’s featuring Argentine rapper Trueno. I knew I was in for an exciting ride because this was a quick shoot to come together and per usual things changed quickly.
The production had a true run-and-gun energy. Locations shifted quickly, scenes evolved in real time, and the pace never really slowed down. As a wardrobe stylist, those are the projects that challenge you most—but they're also the ones that remind you why you love what you do.
One important distinction on this project was that Trueno's wardrobe was handled separately. His looks were provided directly by designers, ensuring his personal style and artistic identity remained front and center throughout the campaign. My role focused on building the visual world around him by styling every other featured talent appearing in the spot.
That meant creating a cohesive wardrobe story that complemented both Toyota's brand messaging and Trueno's presence without competing with either. Every outfit had to feel authentic, contemporary, and reflective of the overall vibe.
Preparation is always important, but on fast-moving productions like this one, adaptability becomes equally critical. Wardrobe changes happened quickly. Talent rotations were constant. Lighting, locations, and camera angles influenced how certain pieces performed on screen.
The creative team had a strong vision, and every department worked together to bring that vision to life. Wardrobe is often one piece of a much larger puzzle, but it's a powerful storytelling tool. Seeing the final campaign come together was incredibly rewarding. The energy of the production, the influence of Latin music culture, and the excitement surrounding the Latin GRAMMYs all translated beautifully on screen.
Projects like this are a reminder that styling isn't just about clothing. It's about supporting a story, creating visual harmony, and helping every person in front of the camera feel confident and authentic. And sometimes, it's about doing all of that at two o'clock in the morning while racing to the next setup.
