Stanley Shoot with Collin Morikawa

One of the perks of living and working as a local Las Vegas fashion and wardrobe stylist is all the production shoots that come into town for specific talent. In this case, I was contacted for a PGA tour shoot featuring Collin Morikawa for Stanley. Collin Morikawa lives in Las Vegas and so the photo crew came to Las Vegas to shoot with him.

When the Other Golfers Start Fangirling

The most entertaining part of the shoot had nothing to do with wardrobe—it was watching other golfers react to Morikawa.

I don't follow golf closely enough to know all of the big-name golfers, but I caught on very quickly that Morikawa is a pretty big deal. While we were on the course, other golfers would actually stop their golf carts to come over and ask him for a photo.

It was one of those funny behind-the-scenes moments that reminded me how different a production can feel when you're working with someone who is recognizable within their industry. Watching fellow golfers fangirl over him was definitely a highlight of the day.

Styling a Sporty Look for Stanley

Morikawa is sponsored by Adidas, and he brought his own wardrobe options for the creative team to choose from for his portion of the shoot.

There was also another part of the Stanley production featuring models from TNG, which is where I came in to handle the wardrobe styling.

The creative direction was fun, sporty, and fashion-forward, rather than sticking to traditional or basic golf fashion. That made this shoot especially fun to style. I shopped all over and used several brands and stores like H&M, Dicks Sporting Goods, Lululemon, Dillards and Nordstrom.

Instead of approaching the wardrobe like a typical golf campaign, we were able to play with a more modern athletic aesthetic that felt fresh and worked with the overall creative direction of the shoot.

Behind the Scenes of a Las Vegas Commercial Production

Working on commercial productions like this is one of my favorite parts of being a Las Vegas wardrobe stylist. Every shoot has its own creative direction, talent, location, and wardrobe challenges, which means the styling process is never exactly the same.

From working with professional athletes to styling models for commercial campaigns, I love finding the right wardrobe to help bring the creative vision of a production to life.

This Stanley shoot with Collin Morikawa was a great example of how sports, fashion, and commercial photography can come together to create something that feels both polished and fun.
